Reclaiming our Judeo-Christian roots in Healing Touch and reconnecting with Jesus’ ministry, Knox United Church has a ministry offering healing touch to the congregation. Knox United Church Healing touch team is grounded in the Naramata Centre healing Pathway program. All practitioners have different levels of competency in this program. The goal of the program is to assist congregations in developing and sustaining a healing ministry. The pathway, while training individuals (using modern methods and techniques) is centered and grounded in the life and structure of the congregation. We follow ethical principles and values that reflect the life of Jesus as responsible members of our community, the spiritual foundation for our work.
We believe that healing is a process guided by God to restore balance and wholeness of body, mind and spirit, not only within the individual, but also within relationships, community and creation.
To serve as an instrument of healing is an honor and a privilege and it is the responsibility of the community and individuals to act as a “healing presence” with integrity and accountability.
Persons participating in healing touch give consent to treatments that connect with the human energy field which complements regular health care.
The Healing Touch team participates regularly in: healing services where they participate in the laying on of hands and anointing with oil rituals of healing; offering healing touch for those in Labyrinth Healing workshops; offering regular treatments to the congregation by appointment only. To contact a healing touch representative please call the office and they will pass your request along to the team.
The Healing Touch team is now offering treatments to members of the congregation on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month, before and after church service. To book a session, please contact Elizabeth Campbell at (403) 253-4969.
